I was particularly interested by the Old West und Native American themes that have captivated die Deutschen attention. Since the early encounters during the immigration of masses in the early 1800s, the people of Deutschland have been fascinated by the primitive life of indians. Karl May, who is now known as the most famous author in Deutschland, gained his claim to fame by writing stories about a fictional indian chief. According to Kimmelman's article, May's buchs were popular amongst Hitler, Einstein, and Schweitzer. His stories inspired numerous powwows to celebrate their passion for the western culture. May's former haus in Hohenstein-Ernstthal, Deutschland ist ein major tourist destination mit ein nearby Native American und Old West museum. The town also hosts many open air performances based on his stories. The article also focused on Jürgen Michaelis who's in his 50s und created authentic Native American clothing und tippees. Michaelis also mentioned that the younger generations are showing a lesser interest in the topics of the Old West und Native Americans despite being a subject in school und having trading cards, clubs, und films.
