You could almost say that Germans don't care. Their hard-iron faces and unwavering walks as they plow right through your shoulder seem to support this. Even the large amount of erotic shops found anywhere and everywhere along the street in the most public locations. All that is just the German culture though, they do care, but just not when you are in their way or when they need their smut. I particularly enjoyed the fact old ladies get priority seating when they step on a train as most people are afraid of being smacked with a cane. The German's also care about the state of their bathrooms, or at least a few lonely women are. The bathroom attendant doesn't hand out a mint on your way out but rather asks for payment for using such a fine John. She may work for a larger company that doesn't pay the likely immigrant very well for maintain the bathroom. Several other lonely women care deeply about how you first interact with them, particularly they prefer a glance and smile as to being talked to and the fact foreigners are interesting and different compared to their German counterparts. It is, however, harder for foreign women to get the ball rolling with whoever catches their eye. The well being of women is another huge characteristic of the German culture. The "Women in Germany" article has man statistics that show that Germans do care, but it just depends on the subject if they actually show how much they care.
